  • Intelligence and Intelligence Analysis written by Patrick Walsh of Charles Sturt University (and AIPIO Board member); this book tracks post 9/11 developments in national security and policing intelligence and their relevance to new emerging areas of intelligence practice such as: corrections, biosecurity, private industry and regulatory environments. Developments are explored thematically across three broad sections: applying intelligence understanding structures developing a discipline. Issues explored include: understanding intelligence models; the strategic management challenges of intelligence; intelligence capacity building; and the ethical dimensions of intelligence practice.
  • Intelligence-related reading list - a reading list on various categories intelligence and topics relevant to intelligence practices and practitioners compiled by Swiss-based company i-intelligence.
  • Thinking Like a Terrorist, by former FBI undercover agent Mike German.
  • Terror in the Name of God, the results of Jessica Stern’s years of interviewing all types of religious terrorists.
  • The Art of the Long View, Peter Schwartz’s book about using future scenarios to make better decisions in the current world.>
  • Democratic Oversight of Intelligence Services, edited by Daniel Baldino, this book addresses the development of, and the challenges and impediments to, democratic oversight and review of the intelligence community in Australia, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, the United States and United Kingdom.
  • Bibliography of intelligence writings. Not the world’s prettiest website, but it holds references to some interesting readings on various aspects of intelligence.
