The Crime Monitoring Centre in Wellington delivers 24/7 services to District Investigators, and is part of the National Criminal Investigations Group.  The position of Crime monitor is an important role within the Crime Monitoring Centre.  It contributes to the investigation of criminal activity using leading edge technology to monitor, analyse and summarise information.

SkillsTo be considered for this role, you must be able to:

  • Display excellent listening skills
  • Identify and evaluate relevant and critical information
  • Produce accurate, concise and well-constructed written summaries using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Produce quality work during periods of high workload
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and an ability to maintain focus
  • Competency in using Microsoft Word and Excel packages
  • Type at a speed of at least 35wpm

ExperienceTo be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Experience in analysing and summarising information and producing well-structured and fluent written reports

Special Requirements:

  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a ‘Secret’ level security clearance. This requirement means you must have resided in one of the following countries for the last ten consecutive years: New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, or United States of America
  • Must pass a written and listening comprehension test
  • Must pass a hearing test
