About You:

Analytical, with a strong eye for detail, you are a subject matter expert in all matters relating to Intelligence and Intelligence Analysis. Your understanding of intelligence theory and practice enables you to ensure a high standard of intelligence products and reports.

 

You have the utmost integrity, and possess a personal set of values and behaviours that will serve as a role model for your Intel team and the wider staff network across site.

 

About the Role:

Reporting to the Deputy Prison Director, you will establish, maintain and value internal and external relationships. You will represent the analytical capability of Kohuora Auckland South Corrections Facility, and integration across site and the Region, to both internal colleagues and external colleagues/agencies. As the Principal Intelligence Analyst you will be a point of integration and liason, from an Intelligence perspective, with Police, Customs, Immigration and any other relevant Government Agency.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • Demonstrated experience in Intelligence Analysis and preferably with a focus on Criminal and /or unlawful activities.

 

    • Comprehensive understanding of, and essential to have a commitment to workings towards developing if not, gangs and their influence and activity.

 

    • Demonstrated ability in analysing quantitative and qualitative data and providing accurate, effective assessments based on information obtained.

 

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including intelligence assessment report writing and presentation skills.

 

    • Advanced relationship management skills, focusing on encouraging and leading cooperative efforts to identify and manage potential areas of concern, conflict or other priority.

 

    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships both internal and external to the organisation and to recognise and manage the needs / issues / concerns of those stakeholder groups.

 

    • Demonstrated ability to recognise key political and other factors which may impact on working relationships and deal with these sensitively, strategically and with transparency where applicable.

 

    • Proven credibility as a professional within the New Zealand Intelligence Community.

 

    • Active membership of NZIIP.

 

    • An Intelligence, or related, qualification at a high level (preferred), ie NZ diploma in Intelligence Analysis.

 

    • You will have or be willing to work towards Registered Assessor status in Intelligence Analysis with an identified awarding body (ie NZQA).

 

    • The highest levels of Integrity with a demonstrated ability to work with information in confidence.

 

    • An understanding of the partnership principles in the Treaty of Waitangi and a commitment to better outcomes for Maori.
