Project Coordinator (Equipment Introduction into Service) Ministry of Defence (Manatū Kaupapa Waonga) - Upper Hutt

  • Manatū Kaupapa Waonga (Ministry of Defence)  Project Coordinator (Equipment Introduction into Service) role is part of an integrated project team made up of Ministry of Defence and New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) staff.  The role is fixed term for 2 years and for the majority of the time, about 4 days per week, will be located at Trentham Military Camp in Upper Hutt.  The remaining time would be at Defence House in central Wellington.
  • The  purpose of the role is to provide coordination for the acquisition and delivery of material capability for the NZDF. This can include finance and logistics management, creation of vendor material master requests, purchase requisitions and purchase orders. In addition, there will be administration, information management, data control, reporting and analysis to do.
  • If this sounds interesting to you, you’ll  need to be comfortable engaging and communicating with stakeholders across the team as well as with the wider defence industry.  Being able to quickly develop and maintain strong working relationships will be key to your success.
  • You’ll also need:
    • Proven ability scheduling, reporting, and working with risk registers
    • Experience providing administrative support to project teams
    • To have an enthusiastic approach and be open to flexibility in how you work
    • An ability to multi-task and effectively manage you own time to deliver results
    • An understanding of project management methodologies
  • The salary for this role is around $75,000 gross per annum.
