What you will do
The Linton Regional Support Company (LRSC) Security Advisor provides subject matter expertise on security matters related to the Linton Defence Area which encompasses all units within Linton Military Camp, and establishments located outside the Linton Military Camp perimeter, such as NZ Defence College and Linton Camp Service Providers (LMNZ, Spotless, ESS etc).
You’ll be responsible for the delivery of high quality protective security services, risk assessments, security planning, protective security assurance and activities ensuring that our people, assets and information are kept safe and secure. In addition the role promotes and assists with security advice, policy, compliance, security awareness and security education for NZDF units and service providers operating within the greater Linton Defence Area.
Advising key internal stakeholders and ensuring they receive well informed and timely updates is a critical part of this role.
What do we need
This role requires someone who takes a forward thinking and strategic approach to enhancing our security capabilities and establishing modern security requirements to future proof the Linton Defence Area. You will be able to utilise and build on your strong networks to engage with external agencies, stay informed and up-to-date with current trends and understand the different types of risks. A strong understanding of security management, intelligence or defence is required.
We are looking for someone who has the capability, sound judgement and considerable experience in security to provide leadership in this area and to educate and influence across all levels of the organisation. You are a confident, effective communicator who provides exceptional advisory service to stakeholders and builds trusted, professional working relationships.
Who we are
HQ LRSC, on behalf of Regional Support (Army) and HQ 1st (NZ) Brigade, is responsible for the command, control and administration of the Linton Defence Area (LDA).
HQ LRSC is also charged with maintaining all stakeholder and local district relationships in order to achieve directed outputs.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:
Higher level Security Clearance
- most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
- is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.
If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
