James Foubister, Principal Advisor in Emergent Technology at New Zealand Police, will provide a pragmatic primer on artificfal intelligence for intelligence practitioners. The presentation will explore where we’ve come from and the state of play now. He will discuss the ways in which AI can enhance the intelligence cycle, can be used to free up time for analysts, and will discuss some of the challenges and risks it introduces. Crucially, the presentation will cover the balance between human judgement and machine capability, and what it means for the future of intelligence practitioners.
