The New Zealand Institute of Intelligence Professionals Awards Night 2025
The Institute welcomes all members, as well as the wider intelligence community, to join us at our annual Awards Night, which will take place this year on Thursday 20th November. This is an opportunity for the profession to recognise those who have made outstanding contributions to the field of intelligence, honouring individuals and teams who have demonstrated excellence, innovation, and leadership in their work.
The Awards will take place in the Banquet Hall, Parliament Buildings, Wellington. Doors will open at 1645 with nibbles and drinks from 1700, and the Awards show starting at 1800. Ticket price includes a buffet dinner and drinks, and the show is expected to end by 2100. For those who cannot attend in person, you can register for a virtual ticket which will allow you to watch the livestream via Zoom.
Keynote Speaker
Steve Symon
We are thrilled to announce that Steve Symon, one of New Zealand’s leading regulatory and criminal lawyers, will be the keynote speaker at our upcoming Awards Night.
Steve has undertaken some of the largest and most complex prosecutions for government departments and agencies. Renowned for his ability to translate complex information into clear, easy to understand advice, as well as his ability to identify pragmatic solutions, Steve is regularly asked to assist with the most challenging enquiries, and has conducted more than 120 criminal trials, as well as hundreds of pre-trials, sentincings and bail hearings. Highly regarded in his field, he has been asked to advise government departments and agencies on regulatory enforcement strategies, including the detection, investigation, and prosecution of offences. His expertise and experience was reflected by Cabinet selecting him to Chair the Ministerial Advisory Group targeting Transnational, Serious, Organised Crime. With his experience leading complex investigations and advising government on enforcement strategy, Steve brings valuable insights for anyone working with intelligence to inform action.

We will then check the remaining availability. Tickets are priced $65pp for the alcohol package, and $60pp for the non-alcohol package. Alternatively, if you wish to watch online, you can register for a free virtual ticket.
