Cryptographic Services undertakes GCSB’s responsibility of keeping classified NZ Government communications secure; an area vital to New Zealand’s security and way of life. Currently on a path of transformation, we’re working to bring our systems and ways of operating into the 21st century.

As a member of our team you will take responsibility for New Zealand’s controlled information assurance material.  In this role you will be accountable for the day to day operations within the National Production Centre/National Distribution Authority, which includes the running of the Cryptographic Product Management Infrastructure.

You will draw on your previous COMSEC custodial knowledge and experience, specifically relating to high grade cryptographic systems, and COMSEC accounting, distribution and production software, to provide expert subject matter advice and training on all things COMSEC.  This will extend to the coaching and mentoring of junior team members.

Salary:  $58,549 – $87,823 – Midpoint of the salary range is $73,186 reflecting full competence in the role

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold NZ Permanent Residence or hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.

You must be able to obtain and maintain a high level security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
