Reports Officer New Zealand Security Intelligence Service - Wellington

This role provides timely editing, writing, processing and dissemination of intelligence produced by the NZSIS. You will work closely with investigative, analytical and operational teams to ensure reporting meets required standards, as well as look for ways to develop, implement and improve reporting processes.

Your customer focus and ability to develop and maintain a broad range of domestic and international relationships is key as you will provide a critical link with our customers and stakeholders. This will enable you to effectively gather, distribute and maximise the use of intelligence, provide specialist advice, and act as a contact for intelligence reporting services and requests.

You will be experienced in writing, analysing and editing business documents and be comfortable handling, processing and communicating classified or sensitive information.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Excellent attention to detail with advanced levels of English comprehension and grammar;
  • The ability to think laterally and manage ambiguous information;
  • An understanding of and genuine interest in national security issues and foreign affairs;
  • A high level of initiative and sound problem-solving abilities;
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to operational requirements.

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.

You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance.

Salary range: $58,549 – $87,823
