Our Constitution
The rules of the Institute have always provided the foundation for how we operate and achieve our goals. Recently, these rules were updated to ensure compliance with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, reflecting our commitment to legal and ethical standards in governance. The New Zealand Institute of Intelligence Professionals Constitution was ratified by the membership at the 2024 Annual General Meeting.
The purpose of the Constitution is to help us stay focussed on what the membership wants from the Institute, and ensures everyone has access to details of their rights and responsibilities as members. The Constitution also outlines how the Institute should be managed, both logistically and financially. The Board also recognises that as our society evolves, our rules may need to be reviewed or refined. If a member believes a rule requires updating or changing, they can submit a motion for consideration. This motion will be presented and decided upon at either an Annual General Meeting (AGM) or a Special General Meeting (SGM).
By keeping our rules clear and up to date, we make sure the society runs smoothly and benefits all its members. If any member has a question about the content of the Constitution, they can contact us at info@nziip.org.nz.
