Date & Time: Thursday, 20 June 2024 from 1.30pm to 3.30pm
Location: Defence Force Recruitment Office, 204 Great North Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland
In June, long-time NZIIP member Dillon Stowe, in his capacity as owner of Adept Intel, will be running a training exercise for approximately two hours. Those present will be playing the role of staff in an ‘All-of-Government’ intelligence cell during a National Security Incident. The tabletop exercise is designed to introduce you to the challenges of responding to such an incident, along with testing your ability to work collaboratively. No specialist knowledge, technical skills, or prior experience is needed to participate. The organiser only asks for genuine participation, and that you provide feedback at the conclusion of the exercise. Light refreshments will be provided.
Dillon is an experienced intelligence practitioner who has worked in both the public and private sectors for approximately 14 years. Some of the subject areas he has worked in include national security, transnational organised crime, anti-money laundering, fraud and violent crime. He also has previous experience working with border related activities. Currently, Dillon is a cybercrime technical specialist within the banking sector.
If you would like to attend this members-only training, please note that spaces are limited. To ensure a fair distribution of places across a variety of organisations, applications will close on 14 June at 9.00am and places will be allocated to ensure a cross-section of our membership is represented. All candidates will be informed if they have been allocated a spot by 3.00pm on that day. If you have any questions, please contact us at events@nziip.org.nz.
